She derives immense satisfaction from teaching people how to change their lifestyle for the better, become healthier, fitter and stronger. Here she tells us why she decided to store her baby’s stem cells.

How did you first hear about banking stem cells?

I saw an information leaflet at the hospital I was planning to deliver my son at and I was intrigued by it. I wanted to know more about it so I contacted the company who talked me through it all and explained the amazing treatments that are now being done using stem cells.

Why did you bank your child’s stem cells?

As someone who is in fitness industry and fanatical about well-being and taking care of myself, I am always open to new things when it comes to health. Today we have a lot of resources to do the best we can for our family, so I think we have to use that. Stem cells have so much potential for the future, it’s impossible to know how much they might be able to do as technology and understanding increases. I like the idea of giving my son the best gift I can, good health.

How has your life changed since having your child?

My life changed completely since I had my baby boy but in a good way. There are no words I can explain when we see his cute little toes, chubby cheeks and adorable smile. Now the baby and his needs are my priority. There are sleepless nights but it’s all worth it.

Tell us about your children. How old are they, what has your favourite moment of their development been so far?

Our baby is only one month old, but already he’s the cutest little guy. My favourite moment so far is when he recognises my voice. He started having “baby talk” with us already, and his adorable smile always makes my day.

What one piece of advice can you give to first time mums?

My best advice to all new moms is to be patient. It’s completely fine to be lost in the beginning, because this is something new for all of us. Just go with the flow. Enjoy every second with your baby and every day will be better and more fun.

How do you balance working and motherhood?

I haven’t gone back to work yet as my son is still so young. I plan to start work again in a few months and by then I hope I will have some sort of schedule worked out. With this and some help I think I will be able to manage.

Have friends or family been encouraged to store cells because you did?

Yes, I have several friends who have since stored their children’s stem cells. Everyone I know who has done it has been very satisfied and happy they’ve done it. It’s like banking health protection for the future!
